Hey Internet!
Sorry I haven't written for so long, I've not even been busy, just OCD (obsessive cullen disorder)
so I found Twilight...and New Moon....and Eclipse...and Breaking Dawn.... and I've been reading...reading...re-reading...re-re-reading and so forth since... actually listening, seeing as I've only got the audiobooks (ipod baby!) so I've got my mind full of Edward lately... listening to him(audio books), watching him(movie), reading about him (Midnight Sun) listening to music about him (soundtrack&the score), and let's not forget talking ABOUT him(twilight chat board)
Well on to other things.
Christmas was nice, Gummi started his usual work week on monday before Christmas same day as the kids last day before Christmas break hit - JOY!
on Thorláksmessa (23rd) me and my cousin Ágúst took my kids to the "mall" for some last minute shopping, which was pretty eventful, we bumped into a handful of Yule-lads all happy to pet the kids on the head and give them treats, first they got apples, then we met Meat-Hook - he had a leg of a lamb twice smoked and raw (it's all good to eat it raw if it's been smoked twice...) Well Meat-Hook cut a chunk of the leg and handed it to Ragnar who ate it all in a couple of bites and very willingly too! Meat-Hook was so happy about that (not many children venture to TASTE the twice smoked raw lamb leg let alone eat the whole bite) he decided to reward Ragnar with some toffees... a few... he filled the kid's nearly elbow high skiglove!!! And so begins day one of sugarrush... Ragnar ofcourse shared with his sister and they both reached new heights of crazyness... *sigh* did I mention that Gummi was working???
On Aðfangadagur (24th) we hung out at home doing waiting for christmassy things such as eating cookies and watching more videos and tv... anyhoo.. I bathed the kids and got them dressed about the same time as I woke up Gummi who then took a shower and then me and we all got dressed in our Christmas best and went to the inlaws for a Christmas feast Gummi's brother and his family came too and his sister who still lives at home was there ofcourse. We started off with a aspargus soup a-la Inga with rolls, then we had a turkey a-la Tengdó (MIL) with a side of sugarglazed potatoes and salad and such. After that feast we paused the eating and opened the gifts (Gummi had to go to work right after dinner and FIL was working) after opening the gifts and playing with the stuff we got we had desert, delicious Icecreamcake ;) YUM! and coffee and then Gummi and FIL joined us for a while around 10 and Gummi helped me take the kids home soon after that.
On Christmasday (25th) the kids woke up early and opened their "big" presents from us (Kapitola got a stroller for her doll and Ragnar got a spiderman interactive huge guy) and watched some tv then we headed to my Amma's house around noon and had leftovers from their Christmas feast for lunch. Then Amma prepared her finest old fashion Christmas cakes, tortes and hot coco festive afternoon refreshments (seriously still feel the whipped cream in my veins *shiver*) then we exchanged gifts with my family and opened the presents from my side of the family and soon after that had dinner. smoked lamb roll with a side of potatoes and white sauce, canned green beans, -red lettuce and -red beads, and Laufabrauð. And for desert we had cut up apples in strawberry Jell-O with whip cream... seriously things are traditional and old fashion at my Amma's for Christmas
ok that will do for now...
