Getting settled...procrastination style!

Hey Internet!

So I'm wondering, am I the only one in this world who procrastinates getting settled?
I mean, we have been living here for almost two weeks now, and I still have boxes on every square inch of the living room, the kitchen still has items cluttering the benches that I need to find places for and don't get me started on the wash room and storage room!?!

See I have this thing when I move, I rush through the packing (again procrastination has me doing this at the very last second, go figure!) and then the big move with all it's stress and heart palpatations, then the cleaning of the old place and getting rid of the keys and all! - when this all has been done I'm just BEAT! - seriously people I didn't do anything compared to my poor husband who is indeed my hero, working his 12 hour shifts in the night while sleeping very little and MOVING for a WEEK - seriously he did all the hard labour, he did the big move with his dad, brother and cousin, and my friend, carrying the dishwasher, Fridge, washing machine, and dryer along with our many heavy furnacings. Seriously people that man was doing slave labour for over a week and then moving every single box we HAVE ALONE while I did nothing but slowly unpacking some of the stuff...still procrastinating! And again all this while working 12 hour shifts during the night!

Then he ended up cleaning the apartment too because of my sinus infection - I seriously despice my body, least bit of stress and my body just goes into ERROR mode! - Sinus infections, migranes, back aches, etc. all due to stupid stress! I HATE that, I wish I could do something helpful for a change instead of just being a burden *sigh*

Well on with the story, after finishing cleaning the old place and handing over the keys I just hit a slump, every day live has started back up after spending the easter holiday for the most part at my grandmothers house except the night LOL - and my life is still in boxes!

I went to school today without books because I wasn't sure where my schoolbag had landed?!? - seriously, I just had to show up there without anything, lucky for me the math teacher was sick and that's the only class I really needed my books in *phew* !

I am going to really settle in here, I intend to live here AT LEAST 4 years if not longer, preferably I will live here until my daughter graduates 10th grade, then I'm open to suggestions, I like this neighborhood VERY much! - and I love the school system here, and I'm happy about our location and proximity to the school and pre-school. I have never before settled in to an appartment with the intentions of really staying there, sure I've in the past HOPED to stay for quite some time, and intended to stay a few years, but I never really decided to make the place MINE KWIM? So this time I will make this place MINE - I went and bought a "new" (used -got it at the fleamarket) tv cabinet thing (the thing for the VCR and DVD - the one the TV stands on, what's it called?) I really think I will learn to like it once it's here LOL - it fits the rest of our furniture and it can be properly closed LOL!

Yesterday I picked a painting by my MIL I've been waiting until I had a place to put it, it's a wonderful still life picture of apples and a bottle and a few peaces of wood - she's a wonderful artist, now we have one by Gummi's mother, and his grandfather, we only need one by him (unfortunetly the artistic gene skipped a generation with him LOL - he's more in the musical genre) and we have hung some of our pictures up on the walls, which is nice.

I have bought fabric to make drapes for the foyer window, - they are HUGE and I will also use the same (seethrough red lace things - sounds sexy huh? LOL) fabric for the kitchen windows and balcony and hopefully my bedroom window.

I have allready had my grandmother model and sow (I do not sow, very seldom at least, and not drapes!) a shower curtain and matching curtains for the tiny window in the shower, it looks great :)

and my furniture are pretty much the way I like them, I need to swap with my mother, she has my living room glass cabinet and I have another one that doesn't fit my furnicings and it fits her's perfectly so we'll swap, but that won't happen until the snow around her house has melted away.
I also intend on getting a "new" computer desk, this one really needs to be upgraded, it's a terrible thing!

*takes an hour long break while talking to mother, then husband on phone*

So that settles it, I will also swap my computer desk for my mom's desk(which actually is formerly known as our desk since we swapped a few years ago) so then I will not have to worry about any furnicings, now if the snow would only melt away from my mother's house so we could get on with it *grumble*.

Allrighty then, I should be getting to bed...

Goodnight dear Internet!
